Ruby 1.8.4

I see a slow growth in the virtual bytes counter at the first
iteration is ~32Meg, but every few iterations I see it kick up a notch
after 20+ iterations it is now ~42Meg. Now just as interestingly the
working set size on the app is rock solid just under 12Meg with no
visible growth.
