The error you're getting is EINVAL, which usually indicates some kind of parameter error to a system call. You didn't say whether you tried this with a more recent Windows version- it could be that the weirdness Ruby does to massage its Unix-like I/O calls doesn't work on NT4. I would also try it with a raw IP address, just to get DNS out of the loop. Ruby definitely does handle DNS weirdly. ------=_Part_2172_1810583.1156037876676--
