Wow, you worked on PHP? You brave soul! :) I've made some suggestions
to that crowd, but they are very stone-cold and concretely resolute in
staying with how things are. They move slow: a whole version just for
something that should've been disabled long ago (register_globals) and
Unicode support (yay).

But, back to the topic, I'm not a fan of increasing size, even if
we're talking 'neglible' amounts. 2n+2 is a large increase, relatively
speaking.

To me, though, for something that is not needed for the majority of
the uses of a normal hash, I'd take the speed and memory over the
ordering capability. But, then again, that's just me.
