Subject: Grouping values of a hash or array.

If I've got a hash
>h = { a => 1, b => 2, c => 1, d => 1 }
Is there an easy way to group the values to come out as 1,2?

Same for an away where [1,2,1,2,3] would come out as 1,2,3. I looked 
through Ruby API and couldn't find anything. Anyone have any suggestions 
as to how to go about this?
