From: Paul Brannan Date: 2001-08-23T01:26:01+09:00 Subject: [ruby-talk:20114] GC in extensions If I have: (1) VALUE foo1, foo2; ... (2) foo1 = rb_str_new2("foo1"); (3) foo2 = rb_str_new2("foo2"); and line (2) uses up all available memory, then will line (3) attempt to garbage collect? Is it possible that foo1 might no longer be available? How can I prevent this without too much of a speed hit? Paul
