Subject: [ruby-talk:19944] RE-ENTRY: ruby Mysql for cygwin

Hi, folks!

It sounds like traveling to Rio via North and South Pole, I know, 
but ... has anyone of you ever tried to build the Mysql-extension
for Ruby on cygwin?

The trouble is, that the linker is unable to find the references 
for the MySQL  C API. These are the first lines I get:



dllwrap --target=cygwin --as=as --dlltool-name=dlltool --driver-name=gcc 
--export-all -s --def=mysql.def -L/usr/local/lib/ruby/1.6/i686-cygwin

READ ON FROM HERE.  While formatting the error message I hit the
Outlook keystroke to send...


It seems I have missed something, but I really can't see what it might
be.  The troubleshooting section of the Mysql manual led to this final
version of the line above, but that didn't help either.

Just a suspicion: My MySQL version runs another cygwinX.dll than the 
cygwin system itself.  If there's need to unify, please tell me how 
to do it best.
