Not a bad idea. It's got great cross-platform supprt; and a quick look at 
http://www.mozdev.org/ shows that a number of non-mozilla applications are 
sprining up that use it.  My problems with it are two-fold:  

1. It's still slow and bloated.  I tried the Komodo IDE recently, which is 
based on XUL.  Very, very slow compared to a native app.

2. Non-native look&feel.
