Considering Ruby's "youth" -- somewhere in the 1.8 - 1.9 range, compared to the other scripting languages on my systems: TclTk (8.4.13), Perl (5.8.8), PHP (5.1.4), Lua (5.0.2) and Python (2.4.3) -- I think Ruby is exceptionally well documented. Of course, I'm far from a newbie. Between Chris Pine's "Learn to Program" and the Pickaxe book (version one is freely available!) I'd say the newbies have absolutely no excuses on the documentation front. -- M. Edward (Ed) Borasky http://linuxcapacityplanning.com
