From: Jim Menard Date: 2001-08-14T05:27:08+09:00 Subject: [ruby-talk:19657] [ANN] DataVision database reporting application DataVision is a database reporting tool similar to Crystal Reports, written in Ruby. Multiple database backends (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL) and front ends (LaTeX (therefore PDF, etc.), XML, comma- and tab-separated data files, DocBook, and HTML) are supported. DataVision uses XML files to describe reports. Reports can both load and save XML report files. There is no GUI yet, though I plan to write one. The GUI will allow you to manipulate the report description visually and will save the report definition out to an XML file. The home page of DataVision is http://www.io.com/~jimm/downloads/datavision/. DataVision may also be found on SourceForge.
