I was all for it, being an Objective-C newbie myself. But the problem is that you can spread a list too thin, thus loosing more information than you generate. And a newbie list would have to be moderated/monitored by gurus, spreading them thiner. The best answer is just to keep the original list very open to newbie questions, and to try to consolidate newbie questions into FAQs whenever possible. - Lou Brothers -----Original Message----- From: Michael Pence [mailto:mikepence@yahoo.com] Sent: Monday, August 13, 2001 4:01 PM To: ruby-talk ML Subject: [ruby-talk:19650] Ruby Newbie mailing list Hello all. Insert usual Ruby kudos here. I have been hesitant to post my newbie ruby questions to this list. I have, of course, searched the archives and wikis and found much useful stuff. My point is that a Ruby mailing list for blatantly novice questions seems to be in order. Any thoughts?
