(only speaking for me: i'm not interested in perl; perl-code makes my eys burn) probably every perl6 guy that sees the beauty of matz' calypso, won't return. so, communication would be progress. I think it's more important to have descriptions of the processes that have to be done, for all the possible constructs in the ruby language. Perfectly, it should be neutral to the target. This would be a Metadescription, for which a language firstly needs to be defined. Last week i tried to start working on it, without really doing progress. I tried to write it in Ruby itself... at the moment i'm trying lisp... With a formal Description of Rubys internals, it should be fairly easy to build translators perl6/java/ms worlds. (for .net one should better wait till they release version 3) May Ruby-Folk have the right to reserve about 10 bytecodes for ruby?? perl6 guys are even representing RE in bytecodes, so as I've understood it, they are not in abundance of free ones. but then there is also the memory layout issue: some things wont work fast, even if you've got a few bytecodes for free.
