I must not be doing a very good job of getting the message out... the Ruby runtime installed by the most recent release is entirely stable. The only reason its not a final release is that this installer itself has some minor problems (for example, uninstall doesn't delete the start menu entries). Unfortunately, I was stupid enough to over commit my time by about 200% so I haven't had time to address even these fairly trivial problems. I've got one other person helping me, but he also has very little time. Anyway, for the vast majority of people there is no reason to shy away from the latest release of the one-click installer.
