You might look at the Ruby Graph Library
(http://rubyforge.org/projects/rgl/) for inspiration, or just to use as
a library to implement your algorithm. The RGL takes a lot of OO design
cues from the C++ Boost Graph Library.  The BGL is pretty robust, but
unless you're into C++, the code can be difficult to read -- especially
if you're trying to extract some understanding of the design.
