fine, thanks, i didn't notice the "s" in "removeAllItems", i have to
learn how to read the classes/methods browser (AppKiDo) ;-)

because i'm using a loop :
    @choixTheme.removeAllItems
                
    @prefs.themes_list.each { |theme|
        @choixTheme.addItemWithTitle theme.label
    }
