Thanks. I don't know how to apply it to my code, though. Lets say I
have an array of symbol pairs such as: [[:top, :left], [:bottom,
:left], [:top, :right]] ... ], and there's an N of them.

Replacing "@origin = []" with something like "@origin = Array.new(2*N)"
gives out an error about accessing nil later in the code.
