To be fair, I used the dmg for MySQL. I tried DarwinPorts, but could not 
get mysql_install to run (or whatever it's called -- I forget).

For ruby and rubygems, I used DarwinPorts. (Also for graphicsmagick.)

For everything else, I used rubygems.
