Well, let's assume we've got persistence.  What would you expect
each of the following to do?

 for i in 1..3
   i = 3
 end

 for i in [ 1, 2, 3 ]
   i = 3
 end

 for s in [ "a", "b", "c" ]
   s = "c"
 end

 for s in $stdin
   s = "hello"
 end
