From: Kero van Gelder Date: 2001-06-23T20:55:46+09:00 Subject: [ruby-talk:16801] rb_define_class() vs Class.new() Hi, From C, rb_define_class() defines a named class, however, on the Ruby side there is no equivalent function: Class.new() accepts no string and can only generate anonymous classes. This looks inconsistent to me. Perhaps there are more functions in C that have no counterpart in Ruby itself? Bye, Kero. PS: Just subscribed to this list & need to test how it works, so I didn't check whether this question has been asked a zillion times before.
