I checked briefly on the archives of the ruby-talk on benchmark.

It is probably a better measure if there is a overall benchmark.
On general data strucutre and common algorithm ( such as quick sort)
the one I have seen is the sieving algorithm from number theory.

From that diagram, it seems that all the scripting language suffer
from high use of CPU. ( much higher than the typed language.)

Are there any other benchmark? On real number computation?
On VERY large integer computation? such as finding the 256 bits 
prime nubmer.
