Sorry, with a little bit more investigation I've come up with the answer 
myself.
For those that are interested in this, the answer is from the Apache module.
The original request (upon inspecting the mod_ruby c source code closer 
and the ruby implementation) holds the path_info. The path_info is the 
/moreInformation that I was looking for.
