I have however admired it from afar over the years. Ruby borrows quite alot from Smalltalk so the question that keeps coming up in my mind is why Ruby and not Smalltalk? Playing devils advocate: - Smalltalk offers a complete GUI environment with an editor/debugger and run-time environment - Smalltalk's VM is very optimized What does Ruby offer that Smalltalk does not? Just food for thought. Steve Tuckner ------_=_NextPart_001_01C0F5CC.83830830 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1"
