From: Phil Tomson Date: 2001-06-09T02:23:40+09:00 Subject: [ruby-talk:16333] Thread deadlock message - what does it mean? I haven't gotten one of these for a while, here's the message: deadlock 0xd7368: 2:2 - /usr/local/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.6/drb/drb.rb:95 deadlock 0xde4c0: 2:1 - /usr/local/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.6/drb/drb.rb:100 deadlock 0xd0228: 2:1 - /usr/local/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.6/drb/drb.rb:304 deadlock 0x55f88: 2:1 (main) - /vobs/tests/gift/vhdl_pool/drink.rfl:1 Exception `fatal' at /vobs/tests/gift/vhdl_pool/drink.rfl:1 - Thread: deadlock /vobs/tests/gift/vhdl_pool/drink.rfl:1: Thread: deadlock (fatal) from nogapok:93:in `load' from nogapok:93 from nogapok:86:in `each' from nogapok:86 from nogapok:80:in `each' from nogapok:80 How do I interpret the 'deadlock 0xd7368: 2:2' (I imagine that the '0xd7368' is the thread id, but I don't know what the '2:2' part means)? What can I do to avoid this sort of thing? (this is an application that uses dRuby 1.3.1) The message above is from a machine running Ruby 1.6.2 on Solaris. Phil
