I'm not sure if the ruby mailing list is the right place for this, a 
advert that is, but since we are talking jobs, I have a small UK based 
company and we are looking for ruby/rails coders to work on a freelance 
basis.
No need to be located in the UK. You would need to know how to use 
sub-version as well.
