These are the two main door-to-door shuttle companies (I see) in San
Diego.  You can call them to schedule rides, but it generally seems
unnecessary - I've never done it.

Instead, you can just walk out to the transportation Island thingy.  In
Terminal One, which is predominantly Southwest Airlines (maybe a few
others), that means using the skybridge to cross the street, and then
turn back toward the airport (re-crossing the street half-way).  In
Terminal Two (most airlines OTHER than Southwest), you can just walk out
on ground level to the islands.

Usually there's an attendant there - just tell them where you're going
and what company you'd like to use.  They radio some magic guy who makes
your shuttle appear.
