As a kid I always wanted to create video games, that got me started. Show her how to program a graphing calculator. Get an old HP calc and data cable on ebay or something, a book on how to program it, and give it to her as a gift. I always liked the HP calculators better, I heard they stopped making them though. She doesn't have to do web programming to understand what you're talking about, she could focus on teaching kids to program their calculators, she may appreciate that more, her students certainly would.
