What Oracle was trying to say was that I didn't have access (by the user of the connection) to one of the tables. Once I fixed this - it worked. In answer to your 2nd part, the table() construct allow me to wrap the return values of the stored procedure call to an Oracle / LDAP interface as an anonymous table.
