We now have this: Private methods cannot be called with explicit receivers, except for private writer methods, which can be called with an explicit receiver of `self'. That would be simplified to this: Private methods cannot be called with any explicit receiver other than `self'. When the explicit receiver is `self', enforcing access restrictions seems rather silly regardless of the method. -- Daniel Brockman
