Note that the PGresult#value_byname() method that is documented there is =
one I added myself; it does not exist in the official postgres =
distribution. If you want that method, download and compile =

Im wondering if there is more detailed docs for the postgres
extension lib than the ones here:
http://ruby.scripting.ca/postgres/
Which are good, but im not that long with ruby or postgres and would
like some more detailed info. Installation and connection is not a
problem...
