Actually, the vast majority of Rails discussion takes place on the Rails 
list, which you can read via newsreader at:

nntp://news.gmane.org/gmane.comp.lang.ruby.rails

It's also readable via RSS, web, and as a mailing list, which is its 
original form.

I'd love to be able to use Google Groups to search it, instead of the 
gmane interface, but I suspect that a large number of people would be 
opposed to losing their mailing-list version of it.
