However, require 'fox12' works for me, and I have fox installed only as a gem: $ locate fox12.so /usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/fxruby-1.2.6/ext/fox12/fox12.so (Note that "require 'fox12'" is also the right invocation for systems in which fox was installed from tarball.)
