Subject: [ruby-talk:14101] I have crossed the Rubicon!


Yep, I have crossed the Rubicon!  ... After hearing so much about Ruby,
I decided to download it to see what the fuss is all about.  As a practice,
I decided to convert all of my Perl scripts to Ruby, and I did most of them
in one pass!  All I need was a reference guide, but even then, I found out
that most of the time I could guess what the Ruby syntax was!  I find Ruby
quite intuitive as I learn more about it.

If a diamond is a girl's best friend, then Ruby must be a programmer best
friend! :)

I think the Ruby community should adopt some kind of an icon or mascot. 
Perl has the camel, Python has the snake.  I think Ruby fans should ask their
girlfriend or boyfriend to buy them a ruby ring!
