I'd have to agree with Mr. Tilly here.
For example, there is a mailing list called [Tutor]
for python beginners which is full of patient and
friendly pythoneers willing to help with the most
trivial python programming tasks - with a smile, too.

I have not seen any 'friendly' perl lists yet, although
there is one called "Fun with Perl" that is informative.
It is too easy to get access to perl documentation for
anyone to be willing to explain things, perhaps.
