Subject: comp.lang.ruby.cvs filtering/sorting by branch

It would be nice to be able to filter/sort cvs commit messages by branch 
  without having to download the messages first in comp.lang.ruby.cvs.

Is there any possibility we might include the branch name inside the 
subject?

For example, a "BRANCH:SUBJECT" format like:

ruby_1_8:ruby, ruby/lib: * lib/fileutils.rb (remove_file): ignore 
exceptions caused by chmod.
