What I am looking for is a more technical description about the actual implementation (i.e. the C source code) that lives in "eval.c". I'm trying to decide how best to support Ruby's thread model in FXRuby. It looks like Ruby/GTK waits for GUI idle time and then the main thread puts itself to sleep for a little while (to let the other threads do their thing). I've stuck this in FXRuby, and it sort-of works but I was hoping to come up with something a little better (not sure what yet). So I'm going through the source code and trying to follow what's going on with the various rb_thread_* functions.
