Right.... ugly code can be written in any language, just as you could
probably make the Gettysburg Address sound hideous by expressing it in
legalese.  It was less than two months ago that someone translated some
particularly obfuscated Perl to obfuscated Ruby.  Not only was it just
as obfuscated, but it was a few lines shorter.

Whenever there is more than one way to do it, those ways will be of
varying legibility.
