   EATING_NIL = Object.new

   def EATING_NIL.nil?
     true
   end

   def EATING_NIL.method_missing(*)
     self
   end

   class Object
     def ignore_if_nil
       self
     end
   end

   def nil.ignore_if_nil
     EATING_NIL
   end
