how can a variable confuse? its just a name. anyone who's done basic 
algebra gets it straight away surely?
as for blocks, surely you just provide the use cases? i can't see 
[1,2,3].each { |value| } providing much
confusion honestly other than the obvious first blocker - the syntax. 
high order functions? what are they then? :P
