This *is* the land of open source.

Most of us don't get paid for doing open source work, its done on a
volunteer basis. We all do what we can, when we can. If it doesn't meet your
needs and you can't get the support you want, you patch it, abandon it, or
fork it.

If you submit a patch to David and he feels its something everyone would
benefit from in Instiki, I'm sure he would be happy to incorporate it. It he
doesn't, you could still fork it.

That's what open source is all about -- its your choice how you use the
source.
