Subject: Pickaxe and rb_create_new_instance

The rb_create_new_instance function is described in Pickaxe 2, but when 
I use it in an extension the linker cannot resolve it.  Grepping 
through the source code (1.8.1) doesn't find it either.

The extension is used to accelerate part of class written in ruby and I 
am trying to return an instance of the same class.
Any ideas what I am doing wrong, or an alternative way of creating a 
new instance of a ruby defined class from C?
