We've got a Ruby group going here in the Portland (OR) area as well. We probably average about 5 people. I would suggest that you find a local Perl Mongers group (that's what they call it here) if you are familiar with Perl and after they get to know you a bit suggest that you would be interested in doing a presentation on Ruby. After that you might be able to get some people interested in a Ruby group. Phil
