There is a significant difference between the system that Kerry was proposing and the system in Canada. In Canada the government is, in effect, the insurance company. The doctors submit their bills to the government. Kerry was proposing a system where people would have access to the same private insurance plans as members of Congress. The existing system of insurance providers would still exist. Buy you're right, it's not cheap. It comes down to whether you want to pay lower taxes and have 70% insured, or higher taxes with 100% insured. Stephen
