where i live, boulder colorado, this is not the case.  it __is__ the case that
most americans with voices (eg. media, politicians) speak mostly of their own.
as is the case in most things, a few bad ones ruin it for the rest.  many of
us are aware that we, as americans, are always living on the backs of the
world no matter who is in office or what wars are being waged.  our lifstyle
and sense of entitlement simply cannot be maintained any other way.
