You need Ruby/DBI and Ruby/DB2. See RAA (raa.ruby-lang.org).

A simple example:

  require 'dbi'

  DBI.connect('dbi:DB2:dvddbase', 'username', 'password') do |dbh|
    p dbh.select_all('SELECT * FROM table')
  end
