as an aside, you can set the path of a session using

   session.path = '/foo/bin:/bar/bin:/foobar/bin'

or

   session.path = %w( /foo/bin /bar/bin /foobar/bin )

or append with

   session.path = session.path + %w( /foo/bin /bar/bin /foobar/bin )
