I have been (although I've somehow broken it now).

The simples route is to use the packages at 
http://darwinports.opendarwin.org/
Install darwin ports
then
sudo port install freeride
should get fox, fxruby, fxscintilla, ruby1.8 and the freeride editor as 
a bonus.
