Subject: problems subscribing to the mail list

I have made many attempts to subscribe to the mail list
over a period of a week and a half
(ruby-talk@ruby-lang.org), but my attempts seem to be in vain.
I get no replies from my emails sent to
ruby-talk-ctl@ruby-lang.org
ruby-talk-admin@ruby-lang.org
For the mean time, I'm using the newsgroup, but I would much
rather be on the mail list.  Can anyone here help me?
