We don't have any kinds of DRM in the PDFs we produce, so there's no 
way to assign a license to someone else. This is a matter of policy: we 
dislike crippled PDFs, and won't distribute them.

With a paper book, if you loan it to someone else, you lose the use of 
it for that period. Without DRM, we have no way of enforcing the 
equivalent with PDFs. We prefer to trust the folks who buy them.
