A quick and dirty script surveyed my mailbox, and got statistics:

September: 652   (93/day)   # up to yesterday, the 7th
August:    3159  (102/day)
July:      3279  (106/day)
June:      2884  (96/day)
May:       3051  (98/day)

These are the total numbers of messages received on the ruby-talk 
mailing list for each month, divided by the number of days. It actually 
seems to be holding fairly steady.
