Yes, there is a detailed README and an API reference. They are also 
posted in the documents section on the rubyforge page. The example in 
the README has a few mistakes that I found a tad too late. The example 
in my post here is the same thing, with corrections.

If I can figure out how to get rdoc and swig to play nicely together, we 
could have traditional rdoc documentation eventually.
