Subject: freeride, suse 9.1, and utf8 problem

I figured out why freeRIDE was having problems running on my suse 9.1 
system.  Suse's spec file for the rpm includes the following in the 
configure line:

--with-default-kcode=utf8

It appears that this was causing conflicts with the yaml code.
